The purpose of this study was to investigate how college students' parent attachment and self-identity affect life satisfaction, and whether self-identity plays a mediating role in the relationship between parental attachment and life satisfaction. To this end, 430 people, 91 male students (20.7%) and 339 female students (77.2%), were measured for parental attachment, life satisfaction, and self-identity. Data analysis was performed by frequency analysis, correlation analysis, regression analysis, and bootstrapping. As a result of the analysis, it was found that the higher the parent attachment, the higher the life satisfaction. In addition, self-identity also had a significant effect on life satisfaction. And self-identity played a significant role in the relationship between parent attachment and life satisfaction. This study empirically confirmed the influence of parent attachment in college students, and discussed that life satisfaction is improved by having a sense of self-identity, a consistent self-concept through parent attachment.
